Greenhouse
Walt Clark Middle School is fortunate to have a large greenhouse located on its campus.
Our greenhouse was built in the 90’s by dedicated teachers and a principal who donated their weekends and summer to build this wonderful outdoor classroom.
For over 30 years, the greenhouse has provided students with hands-on learning opportunities that would be nearly impossible without it. Currently, Walt Clark offers a semester-long class where about 60 students each year learn first hand the importance of botany, horticulture, ecology and conservation. This class is a very hands-on experience for students as they get their hands dirty planting and transplanting thousands of plants and maintaining 4 gardens at the school. We also host a Mothers Day Fundraising Vegetable Sale where students are in charge of customer service and financial responsibilities, so they also learn some basic business and people skills.
Our greenhouse has impacted thousands of students over the years. We take a lot of pride in the greenhouse at Walt Clark, but it would not be possible without the support of our community members and local businesses that have helped out over the years. Our Community Greenhouse Fundraiser is typically the week before Mother’s Day, from 4:15-6pm.
We would like to send a Huge Thank You to; Live Laugh Love Believe at https://www.livelaughlovebelieve.com/ and the Moehling Family, Bob Trout & Family, Our Wonderful Volunteers, Lowes of Loveland, Home Depot of Loveland, Jason Rider at https://thrivingdesign.com/ and the Community of Loveland for supporting our greenhouse and students.
