Habitat Boxes

habitatt

8th Grade Students at Walt Clark Middle School are doing a unit called Habitat Helpers.

Students first learn about a particular species of animal that has had habitat destruction in their past, and then they learn to help them. By using building and construction concepts the class creates Bluebird Boxes, American Kestrel Boxes, Screech Owl Boxes and even Bat Boxes.

Students are learning essential skills like safe wood working habitats, tool safety, measurements and learning how to use various tools needed to complete the boxes.

Habitat Helpers have been very busy over the past year making Bat Boxes, Bluebird Boxes and now Screech Owl Boxes. Prices vary depending on materials needed to make the boxes, but 100% of this fundraiser will go into materials for students to build more boxes! With this fundraiser, we will purchase more materials and have students create more boxes.

Supporting this project helps WC students learn construction skills and safety, supports future learning and supports local wildlife for your properties!

This is a Win Win, you get a quality box, wildlife gets a new home, and students learn essential construction skills! Supplies are limited!

Bat Boxes = $30.00

Owl Boxes = $25.00

Bluebird Boxes = $10.00
