Greenhouse

Students that take this class will be exposed to the many wonders of ecology and botany that surround the Plant Kingdom, as well as management skills necessary to keep a greenhouse working. Walt Clark is very unique to have a large greenhouse that we use as a classroom to teach the many facets of how plants work. Students are introduced to activities and experiments involving how plants grow and what makes them thrive and survive, and also tending to the 5 gardens that Walt Clark has. Students will be responsible for researching, growing, tending to, transplanting, grafting, and harvesting plants. Students will be learning by experiments, demonstrations, worldly documentaries, and by getting their hands dirty. Students will also be running a fundraising vegetable plant sale in the spring to help fund the greenhouse, so if your student or family likes gardens, this class will be a good fit!
