2024 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
PreK-12th Student Art & Writing Contest

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission announced their selection of the 2024 theme: “Capturing the Dream.” In one of his most famous speeches, “I Have a Dream,” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke about his dream for an America where freedom and justice would be available to all people. 


ART Contest Details:

“Create a 2-D or 3-D art piece that shows how you are capturing Dr. MLK, Jr.’s dream of equality, freedom, or justice.”

WRITING Contest Details:

Grades Pre-K-2:

“Write about something you do that shows Dr. MLK, Jr.’s dream of equality, freedom, or justice.”

Grades 3-12:

“Write an original piece about how you are capturing Dr. MLK, Jr.’s dream of 

equality, freedom, or justice.”

All contest entries must be received by December 11, 2023, by Veronica White, Department of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the TSD Administration Building, 800 S. Taft Avenue. All winners will be personally notified by December 15, 2023. Winners will be recognized along with their work at the in-person Loveland Community MLK Event on January 15, 2024. Questions?
